CBB wins eGovernment Excellence Award

Manama, Kingdom of Bahrain – 28 April 2019 – The Central Bank of Bahrain received the eGovernment Excellence Award 2019 for the Best eGovernment Website category. The announcement was made during the awards ceremony organized by the Information and eGovernment Authority under the patronage of H.H. Shaikh Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khalifa, Deputy Prime Minister, Chairman of the Supreme Committee for Information & Communication Technology.

This award comes as recognition of the new and improved website launched by the CBB in February 2019. The website features a brand new design which is user-friendly and can be viewed on various browsers, and is optimized for all screen sizes and desktop and smart devices.

The award was received on behalf of the Governor by Mr. Yousef Rashed Al Fadhel, Executive Director of Corporate Services at the CBB and commenting on this occasion he said, “We are delighted to receive this award. The launch of the redesigned website is part of the CBB senior management’s continuous commitment and efforts to be at the forefront of excellence and innovation, which goes in line with the CBB’s digitization strategy.”

The CBB website provides access to an array of information on the financial sector in the Kingdom of Bahrain, covering the CBB’s roles and responsibilities in supervision, monetary policy and financial stability. The website includes statistics, laws and regulations related to the financial sector, FinTech and innovation. It also includes a comprehensive directory of licensed financial institutions, regulated activities and authorized persons in the Kingdom of Bahrain, in addition to the CBB Rulebook. The website will soon provide an online submission portal for licensee application forms, which will facilitate and speed up the licensing procedure.
